African Christian Outreach

4:12 Youth Ministry is a ministry of African Christian Outreach. Founded in 1971 by Allen & Alice Stickney, ACO has been investing in college students in East Africa for over 4 decades. Allen & Alice, invested their lives in Faithful, Available, and Teachable young people on campuses throughout Kenya. Today, a handful of those students are now the backbone of the ministry that stretches across 4 countries in East Africa. With discipleship as the intentional foundation, African Christian Outreach continues to mold young men and women into change agents, with the mindset of investing their lives in those God puts them around.

YMI’s mission is to evangelize and disciple the world’s youth through the local church by “Training the Trainers” of indigenous Youth Leaders.

Global Youth Ministry

4:12 Youth Ministry is partnered with Global Youth Ministry out of Chatsworth, Georgia. Matt, the 4:12 director, was saved at a Global Youth Camp when he was thirteen years old. He served as a camp intern his sophomore, junior, and senior year while at Florida State University. During his 4th year, the director of Global invited Matt to serve as missionary with them in Kenya. Matt & Kelly (Matt's wife) both felt called to go to Kenya and served as missionaries with Global from 2008-2018. After lots of prayer, fasting, and meeting with wise counselors, Matt & Kelly felt God leading them to join African Christian Outreach and remain in a partnership with Global Youth Ministry. Matt & Kelly love Global's mission and vision and are excited about the partnership moving forward.

Sowing seeds of Joy

James and Chao Wanje have worked as missionaries in their nation, Kenya, for more than 10 years. After attending college, getting married and having their two boys (Morris and Francis) in the USA, they answered the call to return to their nation, Kenya, to carry on the family legacy of mission work with their own people.

The Wanjes are now investing their passion on the Coastal region of Kenya. This is the area where James’ father, the late Reverend Morris Wanje, invested more than 50 years in evangelism and discipleship of the natives. Reverend Morris Wanje was the first Baptist convert in the East African region. Before he went to be with the Lord in February 2014, Reverend Morris Wanje had started more than 67 churches, many of which are in the Coastal region of Kenya.

The Wanjes are passionate about carrying the legacy of Reverend Morris Wanje in the transformation of communities through the local church. Through Sowing Seeds of Joy Kenya, they carry out their passion by focusing on five pillars: Marriage and Family Outreach; Pastoral and Church Leadership Development; Evangelism and Church Planting; Training and Discipleship; Humanitarian Outreach that include Water for Life and Seeds Creation.

James and Chao are very passionate together with their teaching team on the coast of Kenya to help 4:12 youth ministry acheive our goals of equipping churches to reach youth in the coastal region.
