Seminaries

Goal

4:12 Youth Ministry desires to help churches to reach youth. With this goal in mind, we desire to train pastors on biblical principles of youth ministry. We do not want to teach a program but give them biblical principles to develop their local programs with. Many seminaries that we have taught with in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, and Ethiopia did not have a course on youth ministry, instead they covered youth ministry as a topic. We desire to give seminaries an entire course or program on youth ministry. We have taught youth ministry on all levels from Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelors level. We’re even with the help of our partners able to teach it on the Masters Degree level. We are happy to train your local teachers to teach our course or we will come ourselves and teach it. Please communicate to us as to which option you prefer.

Many times whenever seminaries or pastors hear of a course on youth ministry they assume that it is for youth. Our course is not for youth it is for pastors and church leaders. Our goal is to train them as to what a quality biblically based youth ministry looks like in a church. We desire to train them to train others so that the pastors and leaders of the church help facilitate a quality youth ministry.

In regards to our potential partnership we desire that following things would happen:

4:12 Youth Ministry Responsibilities:

1. Teach our course for free- We will not charge you anything.

2. Transport ourselves for free- We will pay our own transportation to where you are.

3. Provide certificates and books for free- We will provide all books and certificates for the students without any cost to them.

Host Seminary/Bible School Responsibilities:

1. Provide Housing- We desire that the seminary will provide somewhere for our teachers to stay. We generally travel with two teachers.

2. Provide Food- Provide food for the teachers to eat while they’re teaching.

3. Provide Quality People- If the seminary decides to teach the course on their own they must provide a teacher who will be passionate about youth ministry. If the seminary decides to let 4:12 Youth Ministry teach the course then they are to provide pastors or church leaders to train.

4. Make Youth Ministry Apart of the Normal Curriculum & Schedule- We as 4:12 Youth Ministry do not desire that you create a special session or add more cost to yourselves. We desire that you consider making the course on youth ministry fall within your normal schedule. We are not able to pay transport or pay for extra expenses, therefore teaching the course within your normal schedule would be ideal.

5. Enable us to teach Youth Ministry in 1 or 2 week session- We would find it difficult to teach more than 1 or 2 weeks. Ideally would prefer to teach our course in 1 week or less at your seminary since we have families with children back at home who need their parents.

6. Don’t give us all students at once- We would like to develop an ongoing relationship to where we're coming regularly to teach at your seminary. We don’t need to have a large class to feel happy. We desire to have a normal sized class and see you and the students regularly. If you were to give all students from say year 1- year 4 then we would not get to see you until a long period of time passes. Please let us have one class and then another so that our relationship can be strengthened.
